Sumanta Debnath

Sumanta Debnath is an experienced operations leader currently serving as Director of Operations and Country Manager at Sibelco Group since September 2024, where responsibilities include driving operational excellence and aligning strategy with sustainability practices. Previously, Sumanta held the position of Plant Head at Carborundum Universal Limited from October 2015 to September 2024, leading a coated abrasive manufacturing plant and overseeing operational policies and quality improvements. Earlier roles include Manager of Manufacturing at Carborundum Universal Limited, where Sumanta drove plant expansion projects, and Plant Commercial Head at Murugappa Group, focusing on materials management and vendor development. Sumanta began the career as Head of Section at DS Group, managing production in a heat-resistant latex rubber thread unit. Educational qualifications include an MBA in Production Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and a BTech in Chemical Engineering from Anna University Chennai.
