Niels Syassen

Niels Syassen is an Executive Board Member for Technology & Digitalization at SICK. Niels has also served on the Board of Directors for both bentekk GmbH and GasSecure. From 2010 to 2017, they were the Director of Research & Development for Gas Detection at Dräger Safety AG & Co. KGaA. Their previous positions also include Project Manager at Robert Bosch from 2008 to 2010 and Research Assistant at Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics from 2004 to 2008. In 2001, they co-founded YASIC, a software development company.

Niels Syassen has a Doctorate in Natural Sciences from the Technical University of Munich, a diploma in Physics from the same school, and an International Diploma in Physics from Imperial College London. Niels also has a degree in Business Strategy from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and a certificate in Enhancing Managerial Effectiveness from Malik Management Zentrum St. Gallen AG.

Their manager is Mats Gökstorp, Executive Board Chair. They work with Nicole Kurek - Executive Board Member, People & Culture, Marcus Vatter - Executive Board Member, Finance & IT, and Feng Jiao - Executive Board Member, Sales & Service.
