Brian Sharpe is a seasoned software developer specializing in rendering technologies, with extensive experience in both production and research environments. Currently serving as a Senior Rendering Developer at SideFX Software since February 2019, Brian has spearheaded the design and development of Karma XPU, a hybrid GPU/CPU production renderer integrated into Houdini, significantly enhancing artist workflows. Prior to this role, Brian was a Senior R&D Software Developer at Weta Digital from March 2012 to October 2018, where contributions included the creation of the "Gazebo" rendering tool for Avatar: The Way of Water, focusing on advanced scene systems and a wide array of features for visual realism.
