VP Technology Strategy at Siemens Healthineers

Juergen Simon has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Juergen started their career as a Physicist at the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics and then worked as a Visiting Scientist at Fermilab and CERN. In 2000, they joined Siemens Healthcare, where they held multiple positions including Vice President Clinical innovation, Director of Strategy, Innovation and Cooperation, and Head of Research and Development for Computed Tomography Detectors. In 2013, they took on the role of CEO Siemens Technology Accelerator at Siemens AG Corporate Technology and also became the Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Symeo GmbH. Juergen served as a Member of the Board at Munich Network and Co-Chairman at the European Technology Platform for Nanomedicine. Currently, they hold the position of VP Technology Strategy and Head of Siemens Healthineers Technology Accelerator at Siemens Healthineers.

Juergen Simon's education history begins in 1980 at Theodorianum, where they obtained their Abitur degree in 1989. Juergen then continued their studies at Heidelberg University from 1993 to 2000, earning a Dr. (German PhD equivalent) degree in Physics. Additionally, in 1993, they had a brief period of study at Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, focusing on Physics, Philosophy, and Ethics.
