Jim Murtagh

Jim Murtagh is an accomplished finance educator with extensive experience in academia and consulting. Currently serving as a Professor of Finance and Director of The Siena MBA program at Siena College since July 2007, Jim has previously held significant roles, including Chair of the Finance Department at The Sage Colleges and Clinical Assistant Professor at the Lally School of Management & Technology. Additionally, Jim worked as Vice President and Senior Consultant at Executive Systems Planning, focusing on IT project management for various clients. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Finance from the RPI Lally School of Management, an MBA in Strategy & Finance from the University of Northern Colorado, and a BS in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
