Todd Biderman

Grants Coordinator at Sierra Club BC

Todd joined Sierra Club BC in February 2020, bringing with him nearly 20 years’ experience across a diverse range of social and ecological justice, and rights-based community development initiatives, including previous roles with Sierra Club BC, Silva Forest Foundation, CUSO, and Pacific Peoples’ Partnership, among others. His recent work with UK-based TAPOL partnered with local NGOs in West Papua to strengthen capacity, document and raise awareness of systemic human rights and socio-ecological issues, and amplify grassroots-led approaches to social change. He believes strongly in the transformative power of social movements and has worked with Indigenous and civil society partners and coalitions across Canada, Indonesia, Europe, and beyond.

Born in London, Ontario, Todd moved to Victoria in 1998 to study at the University of Victoria, and learn about and explore the spectacular ecosystems of coastal BC. It has been home base ever since. Todd lives on unceded Lekwungen Territory in Victoria with his partner, two children, and their dog Teddy. He loves spending time with family and friends (sharing food and laughs). Other times he can be found practicing aikido, mucking around on a guitar, or out on a course (or in a field) striving for disc golf perfection.
