Donnaly Atajar

Donnaly Atajar's work experience includes serving as the Director of Internal Engagement & Communications at Sierra Club starting in 2022. Prior to that, they worked at the University of California San Diego as an External Admissions Application Reader from October 2017 onwards. In February 2018, they transitioned into the role of Learning and Development Coordinator, where they led onboarding, training, and leadership development for 30 direct reports and coordinated immersive onboarding sessions for 1,500 participants.

From January 2018 to August 2022, Donnaly worked as the Program Engagement Manager for the San Diego Promise at San Diego Mesa College. In this role, they oversaw operations and communications for a program with 1,400 participants and managed multiple project workflows.

Before that, Donnaly served as an Organizational Development Coordinator for the Lakas Mentorship Program from July 2014 to June 2021. Donnaly coordinated a mentorship and leadership development program, developed a curriculum, and implemented change management strategies.

Additionally, Donnaly worked as a Guidance Technician - College & Career Center at the San Marcos Unified School District from October 2016 to December 2017, where they provided support and programming to over 2,600 participants.

Lastly, Donnaly was an Outreach Specialist at the Academy of Art University from August 2012 to December 2015, where they cultivated relationships with schools and guided prospective students through the admissions process.

Donnaly Atajar holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in Political Science from UCLA. Later, Donnaly pursued a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education Leadership from the University of San Diego School of Leadership and Education Sciences. Additionally, Donnaly has a Certificate in Creative Writing from San Diego Mesa College.
