Gonzalo Valdes

Gonzalo Valdes is an experienced environmental and community organizer, currently serving as a Founding Member of the Tampa Bay Climate Alliance since March 2018 and as Deputy Regional Field Director for the Sierra Club since November 2017, where responsibilities include coordinating strategies to raise awareness about the impacts of fossil fuel reliance. Valdes co-founded the Tampa Bay Disaster Resiliency Initiative in January 2020 and previously held the position of Environmental Justice Chair at the Hillsborough County Branch NAACP until May 2021. Additionally, experience includes roles as Secretary/Campaign Branding Specialist for the Restorative Justice Coalition, Community Organizer for Organize Florida, and various counseling positions focused on housing and foreclosure prevention. Valdes's educational background includes studies at the University of South Florida.
