Phil Radford

Philip Radford is an experienced leader in the environmental and progressive nonprofit sectors, currently serving as the Chief Strategy Officer at the Sierra Club since March 2023. Prior to this role, Radford was the Director at the Mertz Gilmore Foundation from June 2014 to March 2023, focusing on grantmaking for vibrant communities and sustainable environments. Radford has also held significant positions as CEO of the Progressive Power Lab and founded multiple initiatives such as the Progressive Multiplier and Membership Drive, which significantly enhanced fundraising strategies for nonprofits. Additionally, as CEO of Greenpeace from December 2003 to April 2014, Radford led substantial fundraising efforts and campaign initiatives focused on climate change. Radford holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis.
