Sarah Leighton, CFRE, is an accomplished fundraising professional with extensive experience in nonprofit management and strategy. Currently serving as the Acting Senior Director of Chapter Fundraising at the Sierra Club, Sarah provides strategic consulting to chapters nationwide to enhance their fundraising efforts for environmental justice. Previous roles at the Sierra Club include Maine State Director, where significant revenue growth and volunteer expansion were achieved. Sarah's freelance consulting work encompasses training, strategic planning, and programmatic recommendations for various organizations. Additionally, Sarah has contributed as a Fulbright Specialist in research on IgA Nephropathy and held senior leadership positions at the YMCA of Southern Maine and BlueHub Capital. Educational qualifications include an MBA in Nonprofit Management from The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University and a BA in Political Science and Spanish from Saint Michael's College.
