Thea Stutsman has diverse work experience in various industries. Thea started their career as a Bookseller at "Diesel, A Book Store" from 2006 to 2010. In 2012, they interned at Jen Turner Architecture & Design and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, where they developed marketing strategies and managed department web material. Thea also served as a Teaching Assistant at Thayer School of Engineering for the course "Biosecurity & Technology" in 2012. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as a Sales & Operations Coordinator at Runa, a social enterprise supporting indigenous farmers and reforestation in the Amazon.
From 2015 to 2021, Thea worked at The North Face, a VF Company, in various roles including Content Coordinator, Brand Marketing Coordinator, Senior Brand Marketing Coordinator, and Global Brand Marketing Manager. During their time there, they played a key role in driving revenue and sparking cultural conversations through global brand marketing campaigns, social content, and PR communications.
From 2022 to 2023, Thea worked as an Account Supervisor, Social Impact & Sustainability at Edelman, where they provided creative communication strategy and media distribution for enterprise-level companies, brands, and organizations. Thea integrated purpose and impact initiatives into client platforms and communications to design roadmaps for a more ethical and sustainable future.
Currently, Thea holds the position of Head of Creative at Sierra Club, where they are responsible for directing wrap-around creative strategy and producing narrative-based content. Thea manages the in-house video and design teams to build the health and reach of the Sierra Club brand and oversees the management of the Colby Memorial Library, which houses archival records and historical content devoted to the protection of American conservation history.
Thea Stutsman received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and Architectural/Design History from Dartmouth College in 2013. Thea then pursued a Master of Science degree in Gender, Media & Culture from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2021 to 2022.
