Tim Owings

EVP Integrated Mission Systems at Sierra Nevada

Tim Owings is the Executive Vice President of Integrated Mission Systems at Sierra Nevada. Tim has held this position since October 2011. Prior to that, they served as Deputy Project Manager for Unmanned Aircraft Systems for the US Army from November 2004 to October 2011. In this role, they oversaw a global enterprise of over 500 direct employees and 100 indirect deployed employees. Tim was responsible for systems operating in 33 States plus Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea, Germany, and Guam.

Owings has experience in all aspects of program and technical management with unique and significant capabilities in the areas of program management and innovative technology integration across both manned and unmanned aviation platforms. Tim has taken great pride in the mentorship and development of the next generation of Army leaders with a demonstrated track record of leader development. Throughout their career with the Army, they have been called upon to bring teams, organizations, and international bodies together. Tim has led service-specific as well as Joint acquisition programs. Tim has also served and briefed as a representative to NATO (1999-2000) and worked on several international cooperative programs.

After high school, Tim Owings attended Auburn University where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. Tim then went on to earn a Master of Business Administration from Auburn University's School of Business Administration and Management.

They work with Eren Ozmen - Chairwoman, President & Owner, Jon Burgoyne - COO & Executive Vice President. Their manager is Fatih Ozmen, Owner and CEO.
