Sr. Principal Engineer - Vehicle CAD Configuration Dream Chaser | Digital Transformation at Sierra Space

Cherissa Fischer is a seasoned aerospace engineer with extensive experience in vehicle configuration and systems engineering. Currently serving as a Sr. Principal Engineer at Sierra Space since October 2012, Cherissa leads the CAD configuration for the Dream Chaser Program, overseeing over 30,000 unique parts and facilitating vehicle integration meetings. Prior to this role, Cherissa spent over seven years at Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company, where responsibilities included leading systems engineering for the ORION Project's Launch Abort System and managing the Satellite Control Segment of the MUOS Program. Cherissa's career also includes roles at Ball Aerospace & Technologies and Lockheed Martin, focusing on mechanical systems and propulsion engineering. Cherissa holds a Master's degree in Astrobiotics from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
