Jory Lyons

Jory Lyons is a skilled propulsion engineer with extensive experience in combustion device engineering at Sierra Space since January 2022. Lyons has contributed as the Fuel-rich Preburner Lead Design Engineer for the VR35K-A staged combustion upper stage engine and as the Lead Injector Design Engineer for the VRM5500-H hypergolic engine, focusing on design configurations for additive manufacturing and achieving combustion stability. Prior to this role, Lyons gained experience as a propulsion research assistant at Purdue University, where contributions included optimizing test procedures and conducting data analysis for propulsion testing. Lyons holds a Master’s degree and Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University.
