Nicholas R. Ahrendt

Dr. Nicholas R Ahrendt obtained a BA in Political Science and a BS in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Arizona. He went on to complete his medical training (MD) as well as his Psychiatry Residency at the University of Arizona. He is a lifetime Arizonan passionate about mental health advocacy and reducing stigma within the state. He currently serves as the Vice-President of the Arizona Psychiatric Society.

Dr. Ahrendt specializes in high-acuity mental health settings such as suicidal ideation, self-harm behaviors, acute detox from substances, and complex medical comorbidities. His academic interests include the education of psychiatrists in training and has lectured on the intriguing field of dissociative disorders (including PTSD, Borderline PD, MDD). He serves as Associate Faculty for the University of Arizona Psychiatry Residency.
