Data Engineer at Sift Healthcare

Jonathan Cook has a wealth of experience in the technology and healthcare industries. Jonathan began their career in 2000 as an Avionics Technician for the US Navy, where they supervised and conducted the training of new personnel on the proper techniques for troubleshooting and repair of test equipment, calibration standards, and avionics. In 2005, they began working as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Rapid Prototyping Center. In 2007, they worked as a Fabrication Engineering Intern at Baxter Healthcare. In 2008, they joined Accenture as a Consulting Analyst, where they designed and developed extract, transform, and load operations (ETL) for a Bayesian model to assess lending risk through the use of Ab Initio. In 2009, they began working at Aurora Health Care as a Senior Research Programmer. In this role, they were the lead developer responsible for maintaining the AAH's Biorepository full stack implementation, as well as providing support for research initiatives that required data extraction and manipulation from Epic and legacy EMR implementations. Jonathan also worked on schema improvements/optimization (Oracle and MS SQL), application development with automated testing, and web-site development using Java Frameworks: Spring, JPA/Hibernate, and H2. Additionally, they served as a Mechanical Circulatory Support Clinical Engineer, providing technical and clinical direction/support to nursing staff and physicians on medical equipment operation, application, and safety with respect to ventricular assist devices and total artificial hearts. Jonathan also developed a Java application (Swing, SWT, and JavaFX) and database to track/report patient information and quality metrics. In 2022, they joined Sift Healthcare as a Data Engineer.

Jonathan Cook obtained a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Columbia College between 2001 and 2004. Jonathan then went on to obtain a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering between 2004 and 2008.
