Eric Palmer

Instructor at Sig Sauer Academy

Eric Palmer has extensive experience in law enforcement and canine training, currently serving as an Instructor at Sig Sauer Academy and a Certified Canine Level 1 Trainer at the United States Police Canine Academy since 2016. In addition, Eric Palmer has been a Certified Canine Evaluator at Boston Police Academy since 2009. Previous roles include being a S.W.A.T. Entry Team Operator and Primary Tactical Canine Handler with the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council from 2011 to 2016, as well as a Certified Canine Trainer at Boston Police Canine Academy during the same period. Eric Palmer spent nearly two decades with the Wilmington Police Department, where responsibilities included serving as a Police Officer in the Patrol Division and as a Field Training Officer. Eric Palmer’s background also includes managing security operations as a Security Supervisor at Harbor Watch Security and serving as an Active Duty Aviation Life Support Technician in the United States Marine Corps, being a Gulf War Veteran. Eric Palmer is notable for re-establishing both the Wilmington Police Honor Guard and Wilmington Police Canine Unit.
