Edwin Badillo

Edwin Badillo has worked in the tech industry since 2012. In that year, they worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Puerto Rico, where they were the leader of a team developing a GPU-accelerated library for conformal antenna design and researched and implemented mathematical operations of sparse matrices for CUDA in C language. Edwin also worked on Hyperspectral Imaging Analysis and the development of an open-source cross-platform hyperspectral image detection library to be used for cancerous cell detection.

From 2013 to 2015, Badillo worked at Verizon Wireless as a Full Stack Engineer and Senior Frontend Engineer. As a Full Stack Engineer, they documented a newly created internal web application, resulting in a 70 page document to be used by Commissions IT Department, Verizon Sales Representatives and Verizon Sales Managers. Edwin also designed and implemented various web pages for an internal web application using C# & SQL. As a Senior Frontend Engineer, they were responsible for the end to end flow for existing wireless customers on verizon.com and for the implementation and maintenance of the verizon.com website.

From 2014 to 2015, Badillo worked at GE Healthcare as a Hosted Technology Solutions Data Quality Lead. In this role, they led a team in the creation of a network device inventory to be used by GE Healthcare’s shared services team. Edwin also designed and implemented a stock market website for GE employees using NodeJS, MySQL, PHP, JavaScript and JQuery and completed the foundation for a self-service portal to provide IT the total cost of ownership estimates for new and current Hosted Technology Solutions customer environments.

Badillo is currently employed at Sight Machine as a Senior Frontend Engineer.

Edwin Badillo attended the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez from 2009 to 2015, where they earned a degree in Computing Systems with a field of study in Computer Engineering.
