Gerry McCaffrey

Gerry McCaffrey currently serves as the Head of Process Technology at Merck Group since January 2022 and has been with Sigma Aldrich as Operations & Supply Chain Manager since March 2002, focusing on pharmaceutical API manufacturing and daily operations management. Previously, Gerry worked as a Quality & Regulatory Manager at Sigma Aldrich, overseeing quality, regulatory, and validation responsibilities in an FDA/IMB inspected generic pharmaceuticals manufacturer. Prior to that role, Gerry was a Business and Quality Systems Consultant at Medical Device Compliance, providing expertise in quality and regulatory matters for the medical device sector. Gerry's earlier experience includes serving as Plant Manager at Amicon, where responsibilities encompassed financial, operational, HR, and quality functions at a medical device manufacturing site, followed by a position as Quality Manager at the same company, focusing on quality systems in an FDA-regulated environment. Gerry holds an MBA from University College Dublin and a PhD and BSc in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Limerick.
