James Beere's work experience begins with their role as a SOF Medic in the Army Special Operations Aviation Command from 1998 to 2005. James then served as the SIGDET CDR in the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) from 2006 to 2007. From 2009 to 2011, James worked as the Battalion S-6 in the Army Special Operations Aviation Command. James then became the Troop Commander and Tactical Communications officer in the United States Army Special Operations Command from 2011 to 2013. James then served as the Operations Officer in the Joint Special Operations Command from 2013 to 2015. From 2015 to 2017, they were the Squadron Executive Officer in the United States Army Special Operations Command. In 2018, James took on the role of Signal Commander in the same organization until 2020. James then became a Technologist Intern and Transitioning Army SOF Officer until 2021. James also worked as the Transitioning SOF Officer, CEO, Strategic Advisor, Change Agent, and Technologist in Pure Catalyst, LLC. for a brief period in 2021. James then served as a Strategic Advisor in Offset from 2021 to 2022. Currently, James is the VP of Technology and Innovation in Sigma Defense Systems LLC.

James Beere obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice - Homeland Security from Austin Peay State University in 2008. In 2017-2018, they pursued a Master's degree at the National Defense University. Additionally, they have certifications in Capability Developer Course from the US Army and CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ from CompTIA. James also completed the DoD Acquisition 101 course from the US Army.
