Emily Freed

National President at Sigma Delta Tau

Emily Freed has extensive experience in regulatory affairs and quality management, primarily with Stryker, where tenure began in June 2005. Current roles include Director of Quality Management Systems and RAQA Talent Development & Communications, overseeing the division's document control team and processes. Emily has held various positions, such as Senior Manager of RA/QA Talent Management and Regulatory Affairs Manager, managing IT programs related to Sarbanes-Oxley and quality system audits. Additionally, Emily has been involved in leadership roles with Sigma Delta Tau since June 2005, serving as National President and other executive positions. Educational achievements include a Master of Science and Graduate Certificate in Regulatory and Quality Compliance from Purdue University, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Relations.

Sigma Delta Tau

Sigma Delta Tau is a national sorority and member of the National Panhellenic Conference. SDT was founded on March 25, 1917, at Cornell University. Sigma Delta Tau empowers each member to reach her fullest potential by enriching the experience of women with similar ideals, building lasting relationships, promoting civic responsibility and fostering personal growth. The Sigma Delta Tau headquarters is in Carmel, Indiana, and staffed by eight professionals. There are anywhere from 5-10 traveling Leadership Consultants each year who are also employed. A national Board of Directors provides oversight and guidance for the organization and is made of nine volunteers. Approximately 90 other volunteers provide support to the organization and individual chapters. Other women may be connected to the organization through their profile due to serving at their local chapters or through volunteerism. The Sigma Delta Tau Foundation was founded in 1963 as a separate not-for-profit corporation. The Sigma Delta Tau Foundation is committed to encouraging the growth of both collegian and alumnae, by supporting educational endeavors and leadership programming. The SDT Foundation is managed by one staff Director, three volunteer officers and nine trustees.
