Sherrie Hans has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Sherrie started their career as a Program Officer at The Pew Charitable Trusts in 1996. Sherrie then moved on to become a Principal Consultant in 2001, working independently. In 2002, they joined the US Department of Health and Human Services as a Health Policy Advisor. After a year, they transitioned to the Department of Veterans Affairs, where they worked as a Senior Health Policy Program Director from 2003 to 2006. Sherrie then took on the role of Deputy Chief Ethics in Health Care Officer at the same organization from 2006 to 2014. Since 2014, they have been the Vice President at Sigma Health Consulting, LLC, leading teams and aiding clients in achieving their organizational goals through improved management and governance models and tools.
Sherrie Hans completed their Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, from 1985 to 1990. Sherrie then pursued further education and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, San Francisco, from 1991 to 1996. Additionally, Sherrie holds a certification of PhD from UCSF.
