Baron Curtin

Baron Curtin has diverse work experience in various roles and companies over the years. Baron is currently working at Sigma Ratings as a Senior Software Engineer, where they develop backend integrations and uses their expertise in Software and Data Engineering to ensure efficient data processing. Baron has also designed and implemented a solution to resolve entities across multiple data sources using Neo4j and AWS.

Prior to Sigma Ratings, Baron worked at Fast as a Software/Data Engineer, contributing to the improvement of backend microservice architecture and leading data model transformations. Baron also developed Python/DBT pipelines and conducted evaluations to enhance data observability.

Baron also has experience as a Senior Software Engineer at Affirm, where they enhanced CI/CD pipelines and developed data/ML infrastructure systems. Before that, they worked at Facebook as a Senior Data Engineer, focusing on backend architecture improvements and data model transformations.

Earlier in their career, Baron held positions as a Data Analyst at <intent>, a Business Intelligence Analyst at Capco, and a Process/Project Specialist at J.P. Morgan. During their time at J.P. Morgan, they implemented a global system using VBA, created Excel spreadsheets for expense reporting, and collaborated on the implementation of an MS Access Database.

Baron also had shorter stints as a DDO Metric Analyst at JPMorgan Chase & Co., a Business Analyst at Morgan Stanley, and an Operational Risk Management - Data Analyst at Barclays.

Baron Curtin has a diverse education history. Baron obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Data Science from the CUNY School of Professional Studies, which they attended from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, from 2015 to 2017, they completed a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science at Rasmussen College. During the same period, they also pursued a Full Stack Web Development Certification at freeCodeCamp, specializing in Computer Software Engineering. Additionally, Baron Curtin obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Finance from the CUNY Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business, where they studied from 2006 to 2010.

In terms of certifications, Baron Curtin has completed the Algorithmic Trading and Stocks Essential Training course offered by LinkedIn, which they obtained in March 2021. Baron also achieved a Master of Science in Data Science Certification from the CUNY School of Professional Studies in June 2020.
