Marjan Tavakoli began their work experience in 2004 as an intern at Golbanoo Food Industry Company, where they conducted quality control tests on raw materials and finished products and provided detailed reports of their findings. Marjan also scheduled maintenance for the canning line equipment. In 2012, they joined Asia Petro Azar as a Process Engineer, focusing on process improvements and the thermal design of heat exchangers. Marjan utilized HTRI for gasoil purification. Tavakoli then joined Sigma Thermal, Inc. in 2013 as a Process Engineer, with responsibilities that are unspecified.

Marjan Tavakoli pursued their education in the field of Chemical Engineering. Marjan obtained their Bachelor's degree from the Islamic Azad University, Science and Research Branch, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Following this, they went on to acquire a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, where they were enrolled from 2006 to 2008.
