Ben Saunders

Ben Saunders is the co-founder and CTO of Signapse, a start-up that combines AI and Sign Language for automatic sign language translation. Ben leads the technical team, which consists of deep learning researchers and back-end engineers. Ben also worked at Accenture as a Business Analyst in the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence division, where they delivered software projects for banking clients, gained experience in leading design scopes, managing developers, and building client relationships. Additionally, Ben served as a Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Fellow starting in 2023.

Ben Saunders pursued their education chronologically, beginning with their high school education at Poole Grammar School from 2007 to 2013. Ben then attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2013 to 2016, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. Following this, Ben embarked on a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence at Queen Mary University of London from 2018 to 2019. Continuing their academic journey, they enrolled at the University of Surrey in 2019 for a PhD program in the Centre for Vision, Speech & Signal Processing, specializing in Computer Vision - Sign Language Production.
