Founded in 1991, Signature Theatre celebrates playwrights and gives them an artistic home, producing a body of work by each resident writer and a season of six to eight productions annually. In 2005, Signature began its groundbreaking Signature Ticket Initiative, providing affordable tickets to every production. In 2012, Signature opened the Pershing Square Signature Center, the Frank Gehry-designed 75,000 square foot Center featuring three theatres, two rehearsal studios, a central, public lobby with a café and bookstore, and administrative offices. In 2014, Signature became the first New York City theatre to receive the Regional Theatre Tony Award®.

The Technical and Production Team at Signature Theatre Company is responsible for the technical execution and production of all theatrical performances. This includes constructing scenic elements, designing and fitting costumes, managing audio and visual systems, and ensuring smooth technical operations during performances. They work collaboratively to bring artistic visions to life on stage, maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and safety throughout the process.
