René van Wees is a seasoned professional in the field of LED horticulture, currently serving as the Global Manager of Application Engineering at Signify. Previously, René held roles at Philips Lighting, where responsibilities included managing the quality and product development of new LED technologies, as well as overseeing application engineering for special LED applications. René's career began at JDS Uniphase as a Mechanical Design Engineer, followed by a role at Philips High Tech Campus, where they conducted research on technical ceramics and managed production lines. With a strong background in engineering and product management, René is recognized for their expertise in light calculations and training for horticultural applications.
