Roy Engelen

Roy Engelen is a research scientist with extensive experience in reliability physics and thermo-mechanical expertise. Currently employed at Signify since May 2018, Engelen focuses on virtual design and digital workflows. Prior experience includes roles as a research scientist at Philips Lighting and as an R&D technologist at Philips Research, where Engelen worked on thermo-mechanical analysis and failure analysis of semiconductor products. Engelen's academic background includes a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology, with prior studies at the University of Cambridge and an MSc from Eindhoven University of Technology. Engelen also conducted PhD research on gradient-enhanced plasticity damage material models at NIMR.
