Yan Zhang

Yan Zhang is a skilled professional with extensive experience in the fields of patent law and research in telecommunications. Yan's career began with internships at Philips Research and NXP Research, where foundational work in system optimization and digital radio systems was conducted. Following these internships, Yan served as a Senior Researcher at IMEC-NL from March 2008 to October 2018, focusing on IoT applications, algorithm design for wireless communication, and leading multidisciplinary projects. Since November 2018, Yan has worked at Signify as IP counsel, specializing in patent drafting, prosecution, and third-party assertion counseling, and became a qualified European patent attorney in 2022. Yan holds a Ph.D., Master’s, and Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, completed between 1998 and 2008.
