Katherine Alfaro Ramirez has held a variety of roles in software development since 2010. Katherine began their career as an Assistant in the IT Department and Assistant of Software Engineering course at Universidad de Costa Rica in 2010. In 2013, they worked as a Software Engineer Student Worker at Intel Corporation, developing an internal application for the manufacturing plant using C# .Net, WPF, and MVVM, as well as supporting the ATTD SharePoint site with SharePoint Designer, CSS/CSS3, and HTML 5. In 2014, they were a Software Development Developer I at Experian, developing an application that used a search engine for BigData to prevent identity fraud and generate a credit score with HBase, Lucene, and Hadoop. In 2015, they were a Software Developer Analist Jr at BAC|Credomatic Network, developing the process of Interchange for credit cards using IBM RPG: AS400 and DB2. From 2016 to 2019, they were a Mid Java Developer and then a Consultant Java Developer at GFT Group and Gorilla Logic, respectively. At GFT Group, they worked on development for fix income securities applications using Java 8, a bus of data, and SVN, as well as migrating a legacy Java application and an Oracle Warehouse. At Gorilla Logic, they developed an application that generated driver reports with Java 8, Spring Boot, RabbitMQ, Vue.js, PostgreSQL, and Pivotal Cloud Foundry and Bitbucket. Currently, they are a Back End Developer at Siilo.

Katherine Alfaro Ramirez obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the Universidad de Costa Rica UCR between 2008 and 2013. In 2018, they obtained a Oracle Certified Associate - Java SE 8 Programmer I certification from Oracle. Katherine also obtained several Coursera Course Certificates in 2018, including Elastic Cloud Infrastructure: Containers and Services, Elastic Cloud Infrastructure: Scaling and Automation, Essential Cloud Infrastructure: Core Service, Reliable Cloud Infrastructure: Design and Process, Google Cloud Platform Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure, and Google Cloud Platform Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure by Google Cloud. In 2020, they obtained a Kotlin for Java Developers certification from Udemy and a Scrum Foundation Professional Certificate from CertiProf.
