Ivar Ness

Ivar Ness has over 18 years of professional experience in the software development industry. In 2002, they began their career as a Developer at the Institute for Documentational Science at the University of Tromsø. In 2003, they moved to the BET R&D Group, ITACA, Polytechnic University of Valencia as a Researcher/Developer. In 2005, they were hired as a System Developer at Praktisk Teknologi AS. From 2006 to 2015, they worked as a System Developer at MaXware AS (acquired by SAP) and as a Senior Developer at SAP Labs Norway. From 2016 to 2021, they worked as a Senior Developer at WTW AS, Piscada, and Unit – Direktoratet for IKT og fellestjenester i høyere utdanning og forskning. In 2022, they were hired as a Senior Engineer at Sikt – Norwegian Agency for Shared Services in Education and Research.

Ivar Ness obtained a Siv.Ing (M.Sc) in Computer Science from Universitetet i Tromsø (UiT) between 1997 and 2002. Ivar also spent a year studying Computer Science at the University of Vienna from 2000 to 2001. In 2021, they obtained the Ultimate AWS Certified Developer Associate from Udemy. In 2019, they obtained the Functional Program Design in Scala and Functional Programming Principles in Scala from Coursera.
