Michael Cochran

Michael Cochran possesses extensive experience in language technology and software development, currently serving as the Director of Language Technology Development at SIL International since January 1997. In this role, Michael oversees the creation of technologies that support SIL language teams globally. Previous positions include Director of Language Software Development and Staff to the VP of Academic Affairs at SIL International, focusing on software solutions and assessing translation projects respectively. Additionally, Michael has contributed to organizations such as Wycliffe Bible Translators and the Software Productivity Consortium, and has held engineering roles at Northrop Grumman Corporation, Honeywell, and other technical groups. Michael holds a Master’s in Software Engineering from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor’s in Math from Biola University.
