Elif Gurbuz is a seasoned chemical engineer with extensive experience in process development and catalysis. Currently serving as Managing Sr Staff Engineer at Sila Nanotechnologies Inc. since May 2018, Gurbuz previously held roles as Staff Process Engineer and Process Engineer within the same organization. Prior experience includes a position as Staff Scientist II at Rennovia Inc., leading projects on catalytic production of bio-based polymer precursors. Earlier roles include a post-doctoral fellowship at UC Berkeley, focusing on reaction kinetics, and research assistant positions at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where Gurbuz also contributed as a teaching assistant. Elif Gurbuz holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Middle East Technical University.
