Tom Hennessy

Tom Hennessy is a seasoned professional in the packaging industry, currently serving as Vice President of Development & Engineering at Silgan Closures since October 2013, where responsibilities include leading product development and manufacturing engineering functions. Previously, Tom held multiple senior positions at Portola Packaging from January 2006 to October 2013, including Senior Vice President of Sales & Product Commercialization and Vice President of R&D, focusing on creating competitive advantages and driving organic growth. Tom's earlier experience includes roles such as Vice President of Strategic Customers at Alcoa Inc. and Director of Business Development at Alcoa CSI, along with a foundational role as Market Manager. Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Packaging Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology, earned between 1983 and 1988.
