Joseph Shumofsky

Joseph Shumofsky is a seasoned attorney with extensive experience in litigation and business crimes. Currently serving as a Partner at Sills Cummis & Gross P.C. since February 2016, Shumofsky leads the Litigation and Business Crimes Practice Groups. Previously, Shumofsky worked as an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of New Jersey from April 2007 to January 2016, where responsibilities included directing investigations and prosecutions across various economic crimes, and pioneering the Mortgage Fraud Strike Force. Earlier in the career, Shumofsky was a Trial Group Associate at Dorsey & Whitney LLP and a Litigation Associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. Shumofsky began the legal career as a Law Clerk for the Honorable David N. Edelstein of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Shumofsky holds a Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Cornell University.
