Steven E. Gross serves as Chairman of Sills Cummis & Gross. He also has served as Chair of the Firm’s Securities and Capital Markets and Banking and Finance Practice Groups. According to Chambers USA 2015, the terrific and very capable Steven Gross is recognized for his skill in handling big-ticket transactions for foreign companies conducting business in the USA. His sophisticated approach to any legal matter has drawn clients to him on a national and international level.

Mr. Gross counsels public companies and senior executives in mergers and acquisitions and securities offerings involving multi-million dollar transactions. In addition, he advises boards of directors and senior executives on current issues such as fiduciary duties, corporate compliance and government regulatory matters. His banking practice involves the representation of institutional creditors in public and private debt financings, workouts and creditors’ rights matters.

Mr. Gross also co-chairs the International Law Practice Group. For over three decades, he has been handling multi-million dollar deals for foreign companies doing business in the U.S. and has established a unique niche in this area. These deals are complex in nature and have involved multi-jurisdictional transactions, managed sale auctions, real estate, tax, intellectual property, C-Suite employment issues, and regulatory issues. The international law team provides day-to-day legal counsel, acting as a corporate counsellor for foreign clients, helping them navigate the intricacies of U.S. law. Mr. Gross’ knowledge of U.S. law involving multinational companies, coupled with his practical understanding of business, serves his clients well; many of these companies have retained the Firm for decades.

His client roster is diverse, representing industries ranging from pharmaceuticals and medical devices, to major financial institutions, to large hospital systems, to high-end international designer apparel clients.

For many years, Mr. Gross has been committed to serving on numerous boards such as The Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey, Inc., a $150 million charitable foundation and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, both as a Director and a Member of the Operations and Finance Committee. For Harvard Law School, his alma mater, he has served as the 50th Reunion Vice Chairman.
