Rick McKinstry has extensive work experience in information operations and project management. Rick started their career in the United States Army in 1986, serving as a Signal Officer and Information Operations specialist until 2007. During this time, they also held the role of SIGO at 1/30th Field Artillery from 1986 to 1990.
In 2002, Rick joined the Joint Information Operations Center, where they worked as an IO Planner, providing expertise and planning support for Information Operations and Special Technical Operations. Rick played a key role in developing and executing Information Operations and Strategic Communications, including authoring the Information Operations annex for US Southern Command's participation in Colombia's war plan.
From 2005 to 2007, Rick served as the Chief of the Special Technical Operations Division at the Joint Information Operations Warfare Center. In this role, they were responsible for conducting and executing compartmented sensitive information operations, integrating them into Combatant Commands' plans and exercises.
After their military career, Rick transitioned to the private sector. Rick worked at Northrop Grumman Information Systems as an Information Operations Analyst/Planner from 2007 to 2009. Rick then joined TASC, Inc. as a C4I Analyst and Information Operations Analyst from 2009 to 2011.
In 2011, Rick joined IP Secure as an IO Analyst before moving on to Meritec Services Inc. There, they held multiple roles including IO Force Development Analyst from 2011 to 2016, Program Manager from 2016 to 2019, and Vice President of Mission Systems from 2018 to 2021.
Currently, Rick is serving as a Project Manager at Silotech Group, Inc. since October 2022. With their diverse experience in information operations and project management, they bring valuable expertise to their current role.
Rick McKinstry attended the University of South Alabama from 1981 to 1986 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
