Zahid Afzal

Zahid Afzal is the Founder and CEO of MedBitz, a position they have held since July 2016. Zahid is also a Management Board Member at GI Partners of Illinois, starting in March 2017. In 2018, they co-founded New Lenox Anesthesia and became the Medical Director at Silver Cross Hospital. Prior to these roles, Zahid Afzal worked as a Gastroenterologist at Southwest Gastroenterology/GI Partners of Illinois since July 2010.

Zahid Afzal attended McMaster University from 1988 to 1992, where they received a Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences. Zahid then enrolled at the American University of the Caribbean from 1993 to 1997, earning a Doctor of Medicine degree with a focus on Medicine. Zahid later pursued further specialization at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, completing a degree in Internal Medicine from 1999 to 2002, followed by a degree in Gastroenterology from 2002 to 2005.
