Ian Thompson

Ian Thompson is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in project management, product design, and business ownership. Currently serving as a Project Engineer at Silver Fern Farms Ltd since August 2023, Ian has previously owned and operated Canterbury Clanger for five years. Earlier roles include Project Manager at Inspire Design and Project Management and Contract Project Manager for Trimble Inc., each contributing to diverse engineering and product development initiatives. Ian's foundational experience at Dynamic Controls involved leading projects for wheelchair controller systems and managing cost reduction teams. Additional roles at companies such as Hozelock and DW Windsor Lighting further solidified Ian's expertise in design and engineering. Ian began an extensive learning journey in mechanical design engineering through an apprenticeship while studying at Milton Keynes College.
