Megan Bates

Megan Bates is an experienced professional in sustainability and education, currently serving as the On Farm Sustainability Advisor at Silver Fern Farms Ltd since May 2022. Prior to this role, Megan worked as the Southern South Island Extension Manager at Beef + Lamb New Zealand from June 2021 to May 2022, and held the position of Team Leader for Land and Water Services at Environment Southland from October 2018 to June 2021. Earlier experience includes serving as a Territory Manager for New Zealand Young Farmers and several roles as a primary school teacher at Rongotea School, Milson School, and in London. Megan holds a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Primary from Massey University, completed in 2007, and attended St Mary's Diocesan School from 2000 to 2004.
