Jeroen Jacobs

Jeroen Jacobs has a diverse work experience in the field of technology and infrastructure. Jeroen has worked at various companies and held different roles throughout their career.

From 2009 to 2010, Jeroen worked as a Web Developer at redstorm and Openminds is nu Combell, where they gained experience in web development and internship in web development respectively.

From 2010 to 2015, Jeroen worked as a Developer at Openminds bvba, focusing on web development using Ruby on Rails and server management automation using tools like Chef.

From 2011 to 2014, Jeroen owned and developed their own venture called Mr. Elephant.

From 2015 to 2016, Jeroen worked as a Software Developer at PlayPass NV, where they developed Ruby on Rails projects, automated server management with Chef, and tested new deployment setups with Docker.

From 2016 to 2017, Jeroen worked as a Developer at Openminds bvba, continuing their work in web development with Ruby on Rails and server management automation using Chef.

From 2018 to present, Jeroen is working at Silverfin, starting as a Senior Software Developer, then progressing to Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer and currently serving as a Principal Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. Jeroen is responsible for building, improving, and maintaining Silverfin's cloud infrastructure using various tools and platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Terraform, Chef, PostgreSQL, GitLab CI, Datadog, and Amazon Web Services. Jeroen also assists development teams with infrastructure-related tasks.

Alongside their full-time roles, Jeroen worked as a self-employed Freelance Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, Software Developer, and DevOps Consultant at Codin BV since 2018. Jeroen focuses on single projects or clients at a time.

Jeroen Jacobs earned a Professional Bachelor's degree in Multimedia & Communications Technology from HOWEST Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen from 2006 to 2009. Prior to that, they completed high school at Visitatie Mariakerke, focusing on ICT, from 2004 to 2006. Jeroen also obtained a certification in Cisco CCNA Discovery: Networking for Home and Small Businesses from HOWEST University of Applied Sciences in 2008.
