Nuwan Warnasooriya

Nuwan Warnasooriya has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Nuwan began their career as an Account Executive at The Tea & Herb Company Limited in 2007, where they handled payment vouchers, bank reconciliations, and staff salary calculations. Nuwan then joined Amerasekera & Co as an Audit Supervisor in 2008, where they conducted risk assessments, prepared audit reports, and maintained company accounts. In 2012, Nuwan moved to Silvermill Group as an Assistant Accountant, later progressing to Accountant and then Senior Accountant. In these roles, they managed group financials, handled statutory audits, and implemented an ERP system. Since 2020, Nuwan has been the Finance Manager at Silvermill Group, overseeing financial operations, cash flow management, and strategic planning. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Operations at Silvermill Group. Throughout their career, Nuwan has demonstrated strong financial acumen, successfully turning around loss-making segments and driving cost reduction initiatives. Nuwan is experienced in liaising with banks, customers, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.

Nuwan Warnasooriya completed their education from various institutions over the years. In 1994, they attended Ibbagamuwa Central Collage, where they completed their secondary education. Later, in 2012, Nuwan pursued a High Diploma in Computerized Accounting at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.

From 2016 to 2017, they furthered their education at the same institute and obtained a Certified Business Accountant - CBA degree in the field of Accounting and Finance. In 2019, Nuwan enrolled at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka again and completed a course in Certified Corporate Accountant - CCA, focusing on Accounting and Business/Management, which concluded in 2020.

In 2022, they pursued a Diploma in Project Management at the IIHE (Imperial Institute of Higher Education). Currently, Nuwan is attending the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, where they are pursuing a Master of Business Administration - MBA degree with a specialization in International Business.
