Olive Andrews

Olive Andrews is an accomplished academic and marine conservation expert with extensive experience in ocean governance and marine science. Currently serving as an Honorary Academic and Lecturer at The University of Auckland's Institute of Marine Science, Olive also holds the position of Executive Director at Whaleology, where marine conservation, policy, and education are central to the role. With a diverse career that includes positions as a Senior Polar Guide and Marine Ecology Lecturer with Silversea Cruises and Executive Officer for the South Pacific Whale Research Consortium, Olive has demonstrated leadership in marine research and conservation initiatives. Past roles include Marine Protected Area Program Manager for the Antarctic and Southern Ocean Coalition and Marine Programme Manager at Conservation International, focusing on sustainable marine management and partnerships. Olive holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Marine Science and Management from Southern Cross University.
