Omar Alvarez has had diverse work experience that spans several roles and companies. Omar co-founded and serves as the COO of Simbiosis, a platform aimed at simplifying the process of finding, hiring, and paying remote tech talent. Omar strongly believes in automated and simplified hiring and is actively working towards building this future of work without borders.

Omar has also served as a Startup Mentor at Tecnológico de Monterrey, providing guidance and support to budding entrepreneurs.

In their role as Head of Growth at Carbono Dev, a software development company, Omar was responsible for creating value for the companies they worked with, particularly startups. Omar focused on establishing Carbono as the ideal tech partner for the next generation of startups.

Earlier in their career, Omar co-founded and served as the COO of Omius - Smart Clothing. Under their leadership, the company secured significant funding, established collaborations with strategic partners, and gained recognition in various festivals, conferences, trade shows, and competitions.

Omar started their professional journey as a Strategic Planning Intern at Axera.

From 2010 to 2015, Omar attended Tecnológico de Monterrey, where they pursued a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering.

During their time at Tecnológico de Monterrey, from 2011 to 2015, Omar also concentrated on Entrepreneurship.

In 2014, Omar briefly attended Universidad de Jaén, where they focused on Business in the EU and Strategic Planning.

In 2023, Omar enrolled in the Business Scaling Program at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business.

In addition to their formal education, Omar obtained certifications outside of their degree programs. In 2017, they completed the Startup School Online course offered by Y Combinator. Moreover, in 2023, they obtained the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative-Education-Ed15 certification from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business.
