SD Guthrie Berhad (formerly known as Sime Darby Plantation) is a founding member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil and the world’s largest producer of Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO), with a production of 2.097 million MT. We play an active role to ensure that our 241 estates and 70 palm oil mills in Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands are focused on delivering results through operational excellence. We take pride in our identity as a global provider of sustainable, tailor-made palm oil products created at our Sime Darby Oils refineries. As a leader in plantation sustainability, we are committed to upholding our commitment of No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation (NDPE) to ensure a sustainable palm oil industry. Innovation at Sime Darby Plantation is at the heart of our business, providing us with vast opportunities to ensure we continue delivering an essential product to the world without comprising on sustainability. A highlight of our efforts is the award-winning GenomeSelect™ Planting Material that has enabled us to produce a 20% higher yield on the same amount of land. We are also present in the Renewables business, which is primarily focused on expanding the Group’s Biogas and Solar portfolios as part of our asset-light strategy to reduce carbon emissions. At Sime Darby Plantation, our people are our greatest asset. We believe that we have a responsibility to respect, support and uphold fundamental human rights. Our complex supply chains mean we confront a myriad of human rights challenges. We use these as opportunities to identify areas where collective action can create positive change for the industry. We welcome partnerships with like-minded organisations to pursue innovative approaches towards developing sustainable products and services in plantations and other related industries.
