Hilary Newstead

Hilary Newstead is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in energy markets and sustainability. Currently serving as General Manager - Energy Markets & Strategy, and Head of Strategic Energy Management at SIMEC Energy Australia since November 2018, as well as Deputy Chair of the Customer Advisory Board at CitiPower and Powercor since July 2022, and a Board Member of the SA-H2H Hydrogen Technology Cluster since September 2021. Previous roles include Senior Sustainability Manager at Telstra from October 2016 to October 2018, and various leadership positions at AGL Energy from July 2011 to October 2016, where responsibilities included leading Connected Services and serving as a Strategic Advisor. Prior experience includes consultancy roles at ERM and research assistance at the University of Melbourne. Hilary holds a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Meteorology and Applied Mathematics from the University of Melbourne and a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from UNSW.
