Dean Mehmet

Mr. Dean Mehmet is the Managing Director of Sime Darby Industrial, the Industrial Division of Sime Darby Berhad. He was appointed to the role on 1 July 2021. Prior to that, he was the Managing Director of Sime Darby Industrial - Australasia.

Mr. Mehmet joined the Sime Darby Group in 2012, as the Chief Operating Officer at Hastings Deering (Australia) Limited, one of the largest Caterpillar dealers in the world. He was later promoted to the position of Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Hastings Deering Group where he led the entire industrial business portfolio across Australia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and New Caledonia.

His key responsibilities include developing and executing organizational strategy with safety at its core, managing the operations of more than 10,000 employees across 17 countries and territories and 30 industrial brands, building strategic, long-term relationships with customers and suppliers to establish Sime Darby Industrial’s businesses as trusted business partners and actively contribute to the communities in which we live and work.
