Gabriel C.

Gabriel C.'s work experience begins in 2004 at Alcatel-Lucent, where they worked as an IT Technician for a few months. In 2005, they moved on to FUNDES, where they held the position of IT Technician for the entire year. In 2006, Gabriel worked as an Executive IT Support at Hewlett-Packard Costa Rica, providing online telephone support for US and Canadian executives. Later that year, they transitioned to People Support as an IT Desktop Analyst, offering on-site support to over 800 call center agents in Costa Rica.

In 2007, Gabriel joined PartnerTEL as a Network Engineer, responsible for monitoring, fault isolation, repair, and IT support for remote sites. From 2009 to 2011, they worked as a Senior Network Engineer at Swiftrade, providing network and telecommunications support to HQ and client networks. During this time, they resolved multicast streaming problems and addressed connectivity issues.

Gabriel joined Experian in 2011 and assumed the roles of Information Security Analyst/Vulnerability Manager and Network Security Engineer. As a vulnerability manager, they established processes to reduce security risks globally and deployed virtual Qualys appliances. As a network security engineer, they configured network security and provided support for firewall-related requests.

In 2016, Gabriel started working at IBM as an Information Security Advisor, assisting with security and compliance requirements during transitions and supporting customers with understanding security services. During their tenure, they identified delivery teams and delivered non-standard security items.

From 2021 to 2022, Gabriel worked as an Information Security Advisor at Kyndryl, responsible for implementing policies, practices, and security programs and leading multi-functional teams for delivering security services.

Currently, Gabriel is serving as an Information Security and Compliance Leader at Simeio Solutions, starting in 2022.

Gabriel C. began their education in 1999 at Technical Don Bosco High School, where they earned a Diploma in Computer Science in 2004. In 2006, they attended Universidad Nacional and obtained a CCNA level Associate's degree in System, Networking, and LAN/WAN Management/Manager. Gabriel C. also attended Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica Academy in 2007, where they studied Information Security in Computer Science. In 2016, they enrolled at Tecnológico de Costa Rica and completed an Associate's degree in Project Management in 2017.

In addition to their formal education, Gabriel C. has obtained several certifications. Gabriel became a Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA) in January 2006. Gabriel then obtained certifications as a Cisco Certified Security Professional in October 2008 and a Cisco Certified Design Professional in April 2010. In August 2012, they became a Checkpoint Certified Security Professional. Gabriel C. also holds certifications as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) obtained in October 2014, a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) obtained in February 2020, and an IBM QRadar SIEM Foundations certification obtained in June 2020. Their most recent certification is the Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), which they obtained from (ISC)² in April 2022.
