Dave Secord has extensive experience in conservation and environmental management, currently serving as a Board Member for the Biodiversity Funders Group and the Center for Science in Public Participation, as well as a member of the Board of Directors for the ISLAND ARTS CENTRE SOCIETY. Secord holds a position as an Advisory Board Member for the CSU Salazar Center for North American Conservation and as Principal at Barnacle Strategies, where philanthropic clients include notable foundations such as the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and the Hewlett Foundation. In academia, Secord is an Adjunct Professor at Simon Fraser University and an Affiliate Associate Professor in Biology at the University of Washington. Additional roles include serving on the Alaska Advisory Board for the National Audubon Society and participating on the Review Board for the Climate Justice Resilience Fund. Secord earned a PhD in Zoology from the University of Washington and a BA in Natural History from Pomona College.
