Ivana Filipovic

Ivana Filipovic has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Ivana began their career in 1987 at The Homeland Museum, where they worked as an Architect, Archaeologist, Illustrator, and Exhibit Designer. In 1988, they also worked as a Cartoonist, specializing in slice-of-life short stories. Ivana then transitioned to the field of architecture, working as a Residential Architect at The Architectural Workshop from 1989 to 1994. Ivana also worked as an Industrial and Commercial Development Architect at SISTEM in 1995. In the same year, Ivana began working as an Illustrator for the Serbian Institute of Archaeology, where they created illustrations for various publications. Ivana continued their work as an Architect, Archaeologist, and Illustrator at The National Museum in Belgrade from 1992 to 1993. Additionally, Ivana worked as an Exhibit Illustrator for the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts in 1990, creating large-scale illustrations for an exhibition. In 1995, they also worked as an Architect/Archaeologist and Illustrator for Radio Television of Serbia on educational and scientific programs. From 1997 to 1999, Ivana worked as a City Planner for the Municipality of Jagodina. In 2001, they transitioned to the field of design and joined Simon Fraser University as an Interactive Designer, where they focused on web design, UX design, front-end development, and integrated campaigns. Ivana then progressed to roles as Manager/Art Director at the Media Design/Creative Studio from 2006 to 2012, and as the Creative Studio Director from 2012 to 2016. Ivana subsequently took on the position of Operations & Service Excellence Director, Communications & Marketing, from 2016 to 2019, where they were responsible for driving team effectiveness, planning operational activities, and collaborating with internal and external partners. Most recently, Ivana has been serving as the Project Director of Communications Analytics & Insights at Simon Fraser University since April 2019. Throughout their career, Ivana has showcased their artistic skills and expertise in various mediums, including architecture, illustration, and cartooning.

Ivana Filipovic has a diverse education history. Ivana completed a diploma program in Civil Engineering Technology at Veljko Vlahovic in Serbia from 1980 to 1984. Ivana then pursued a Bachelor of Architecture degree at the University of Belgrade from 1984 to 1990. Following this, Ivana obtained a Master of Science degree in Architecture from the University of Belgrade from 1990 to 1993. Ivana also completed 3 years of a Bachelor's degree in Archaeology at the University of Belgrade from 1993 to 1995. In 2016, Ivana attended PR Academy in London and completed the AMEC International Certificate in Measurement and Evaluation in the field of Business/Corporate Communications.
